Phase 3 - Best Management Practices |
|
Phase 3 of the study is called the Best Management Practice (BMP) Scenario. This phase is focused in how changes in the way we use the landscape will affect the projections generated by the ALCES® model. Within a cumulative effect analysis, we ask the question of whether improvements in practices by all parties will sufficiently protect the source of the many ecological goods and services provided by this landscape to Albertans? If you believe you should be participating please email Alan Gardner

Advisory Group Meeting - May 7th |
|
The meeting of the Advisory Group on May 7th, 2008, was attended by some 45 people who heard a number of presentations and then discussed the next steps. You can download the agenda here.
The consensus was that the process should continue and that writing a report on this phase was important but not sufficient. Participants indicated that we need to play a part in the unfolding of the Land Use Framework under development by the Government of Alberta.
We will be working with the sectoral groups to refine the material in their presentations and use it as the basis of a report on the work of Phase 3 of the SFS. Brad, Alan and David will act as editors.
